Our story goes back to 2006, when we began life as a UK distributor for GPS giants Garmin. The partnership was extremely successful, and in a highly competitive environment, we helped Garmin achieve substantial sales growth and extend their share of the UK market.

The success of our association with Garmin, which continues today, gave us a solid base from which to expand our vendor portfolio. We quickly secured distribution contracts with other leading brands – in parallel developing strong relationships with a broad base of customers.

The journey continues into Benelux

Since then, Thames Distribution has gone from strength to strength, enjoying significant growth year on year, and today our operations encompass the UK and Benelux, with centrally positioned warehouse facilities in both regions. Focusing exclusively on exciting and innovative new products, we are working with an impressive portfolio of established – as well as emerging – product vendors, major retailers and B2B customers.

Paul Collins, MD

Paul set up Thames Distribution in 2006 after spending 12 years as The Retail Director at Interface solutions. He has extensive experience in retail sales and channel distribution.

Tim Van Straaten, Thames Distribution

Tim van Straaten, Benelux Sales Director

Tim was founder and Managing Director of Trade101 in the Benelux region for 7 years until the company merged with Thames Distribution. Tim heads up the Benelux business from the Netherlands.

Peter Roydon, Director

Peter joined Thames in 2010 following 12 years with BT where he gained a wealth of commercial and corporate knowledge and experience. This knowledge has been carried across and utilised in both Thames IT as it strived for growth in its earlier days and subsequently Thames Distribution in the present day.
